He began his career as an assistant director on Volga-Volga (1938) and later directed successful films such as Four Hearts (1941) and Brave People (1950). Brave People became a box office leader in 1950, attracting over 41 million viewers, and earned Yudin the Stalin Prize in 1951. His films were known for their engaging narratives and were well-received by Soviet audiences.
